It Was this time 10 years ago

My shrink got me onto champix/chantix or whatever it’s called in your neighborhood. I didn’t even finish the course and stopped after a week and a half of smoking cigs more. It really was easy and I struggled for years trying to give it up.

So. In a week or so it’s 10 years. A decade without a cigarette and my health is clearly so much better.

It’s a short term fix and it is just poison for you so just want to put it out there…Giving up is possible!

Congrats! :slightly_smiling_face:

I stopped smoking on Champix, although it triggered psychosis for me. I now vape, so that’s a bit of a backwards slide.

I stopped smoking cigarettes 5 years ago, and I noticed how my cognition became worse.

A year went by, another year went by, and I couldn’t do anything. I was sleeping alot and wasn’t that functional.

I was depressed on anti depressants.

I then did alot of research and found out about NRTs.

I remember when I first bought pack of nicorettes; I popped one in my mouth and it felt like I was in the movie ‘Limitless’.

I started reading again, socializing a little bit, writing stuff etc.

Over the course of those 5 years, I started treating nicotine as a nootropic; taking only in moderation and a PRN if you will.
