Anyone have difficulty falling asleep like me?It takes an hour on bed for me to fall asleep, should it be seen as a problem or normal?
Falling asleep in an hour is a pretty good night for me. I’ve been that way for fifty-one years. In some ways I like it. I have time to ruminate, and to let my mind wander. It does make for some sleepy days, though. I often fall asleep during the day for a couple of hours, and then I can’t sleep at all during the night.
That sounds about normal in a way.
Not too bad.
I’m the same way.
Initiating sleep is problematic with many that have schizophrenia. Circadian rhythym issues are common in schizophrenia as well.
I was going to say it only takes an hour for you. Sometimes it takes 3 hours for me although sometimes it’s 30 min. All depends on how tired I am
An hour doesn’t seem too bad. I take melatonin now, it has helped.
After 8 hours of sleep I still wake up sleepy so I don’t really understand what is happening?
I take quetiapine beford bed, and it always takes 1hr before I get sleepy
It takes me at least an hour to fall asleep, and that’s on a good day. Generally it’s between 3-4 hours and sometimes (like the past two nights) I’ve gone to bed at midnight and didn’t fall asleep until after 7AM.
I’ve had problems with my sleep for quite a few years now though. Once I fall asleep I have no problems staying asleep but it takes me forever to fall asleep. I’m bad with overthinking.
Some things to avoid if you have problems sleeping would be bright phone or laptop screens (no screens at least an hour before you fall asleep) smoking, or caffeine before bed. If you drink caffeinated beverages make sure you have your last one quite a few hours before you sleep (I give myself five hours just because I’m extra sensitive and too much coffee can send me into a manic episode)
