I switched to a cheaper order of catheters for this month. I’m having a heck of a time trying to catheterize myself with the new ones. I managed to succeed once yesterday and once today. My husband did it for me the othet times. I need to be able to do it myself all the time. Otherwise it’s embarrassing and I feel bad for my husband. But it’s not easy with the new catheters.
I’m sorry to hear your going through this… I pray you find the strength to get through this. Wishing you the best!
Thanks @POET! 1515
Wow. You have a hard life. I was feeling sorry for myself because I can’t eat solid foods without great difficulty. I choose to live because I’m not ready for it to end. And I have enjoyment at times.
Did you look into Shield Healthcare? If you have Medicare or Medicaid, it will pay the cost of catheters from Shield.
That sounds awful! I’m so sorry you are dealing with that. Does it scare you?
For me, with my insurance, I pay 20% of the cost. For my old catheters, that’s $34.60/ month. As cheap as that sounds I can’t afford it with my other medical issues.
But thank you @77nick77. I’ll call them tomorrow to double check.
It’s never scared me.
