I’ve tried not to complain about my life on this site. So I’m not begging for attention. I was diagnosed with chronic pancreatitis last year. It’s been a struggle. But the pancreas is now effecting the organs surrounding it in a serious way. So within the next couple weeks, I have surgery. They are removing half of my pancreas, my whole spleen, part of my stomach and taking out the infected part of the colon and reattaching. It will be a six to eight hour surgery. I’m of course nervous about it. It’s been very difficult not to complain about my life, because I’m in the hospital for weeks at a time. But I could use some mental support. I’m losing my optimism and it’s very hard to be positive anymore.

I won’t sugar coat it, but this surgery is going to be rough, it’s going to be a lot, and recovery will be hard.
It will save your life. Pure and simple. It’s scary to face this, but you will be in good hands.
Many of us know how strong you can be. We are here to support each other, there is no shame in asking for kindness, you are one of us.

OMG that’s so scary! I really hope these surgeries help and you’ll start feeling better soon. Probably a rough recovery. I know you don’t want to complain like some of the other people here, but saying hey this sucks once in awhile is a lot different than the people that ONLY post about how miserable they are.
We care about you. All of you, not just how it relates to sz. We want to be able to support you.

You have quite a load to deal with. I perfectly understand that you want to get this off your chest. I mean this makes everything I have dealt with so far in life seem pretty trivial.

Trust your doctor they will take care of you there’s no need to worry if you need something while in the hospital ask your nurse it is their job to support you through recovery
