Is zyprexa diabetes reversible

I don’t have that but I’m wondering

Not so far, darn it.

I was diagnosed with diabetes when I was on Zyprexa, but I weighed 345lbs. I don’t know if it was the Zyprexa or being extremely obese that did it. My pdoc denied diabetes can be caused by Zyprexa, but said you shouldn’t be taking Zyprexa if you have diabetes. He switched me to Risperidone and my blood sugar got better, but it was still high. I’m off of diabetes medications now that I’m on Caplyta though. I don’t know if that means my diabetes has gone away.

My weight is now 235lbs now. I couldn’t stop eating on Zyprexa.

If it is T2D shouldn’t it be reversible? I don’t know. My doc had warned me about it causing diabetes. Going to taper it soon.

I am glad it is. One less thing to worry about.

If you get off zyprexa and start a real adequate anti-diabetes diet. Quickly. In discussion with docs. I think it may.

Or may not. I do not have diabetes. But only a few months of zyprexa wrecked my metabolism. I was very skinny before and could eat everything. Within weeks I gained 20kg. And never got back to my normal metabolism. I still gain quickly. It is 8 years later. I do not have diabetes. But my metabolism got wrecked in a very, very short term. I wish I never tried this med.
