well nothing for a 3 months, then i have a birthday. which is really no big deal, but im hoping to get mom or dad to agree to take me on a trip to visit a city im thinking about moving to in the future. i’ve never been there, so want to drive around and check it out.
long term im looking forward to moving out. and retirement would be nice some day.
Saturday is birthday and we’re getting my favorite tacos for dinner. Then next week, assuming Little LED is feeling okay, we’re going to the lake for a few days. My in-laws have a houseboat down in Tennessee, so we can safely vacation without exposure.
I am looking forward to buying a wedding engagement ring that will cost me $6000. Enchanted Disney Jewelry is so expensive. I also face the risk of the lady I am buying this ring for declining which would mean I would have to return it.
We usually go to an apple festival in Lincoln, Arkansas in the fall, which is kind of nice, but I doubt if we’ll be going this year because of the Corona thing.
I’ve thought about heading to Ft. Smith if I ever leave my assisted living center. My dad went through infantry training in WW2, but they found out he could type, and they needed a lot of guys who could type because Germany had surrendered, and they were trying to process all the guys in Germany through to go to Japan. Then they dropped the atomic bomb, which ended the war. So, in a sense, I owe my existence to the atomic bomb. I have mixed feelings about that. I had four uncles who fought in World War 2. One of them was in the navy getting ready to ship out, and he got in a fight with an officer. They put him in the stockade, and he shipped out on another ship. It turned out that the ship he would have been on got sunk and almost all of them died.
o wow. crazy how things work out. yeah i never met my grandpa, he died before i was born. mom says he became a mean drunk after the service. but in his prime he was a great baseball player. he played with a mlb hall of famer when he was in the service. he drove a tank in the military. was in germany and italy i think.
His metamorphisis to a mean drunk might have been due to ptsd. They say that Audie Murphy had that, and he was known to get into dangerous road rage incidents.
yeah that’s what im thinking, i wish i got to meet him. mom still loves him. my brother has also been to war zones, bosnia, iraq, and afghanistan, but he is the nicest guy ever, even when he’s drunk. he seems unaffected by it all. he’s all about a good time. enjoys his life.
