If I do not take antibiotics my skin comes out in spots on my face. But recently my GP said that it is ok to take antibiotics permanently so I do not have that problem. But surely with all this talk about resistance and superbugs that this is not a good idea. I am pretty sure I am going to keep taking them because my skin is already pretty bad from all the acne I have had. Just wondering if it is a bad idea.
I never take anti-biotics unless im dying and actually need them. I get too scared of reading about having MRSA and alike that are treatment resistant. I like to have my body have them - when it needs them when i get infections when old. That way they will work. Thats my messed up thinking on it anyway! lol
It depends on what allergies you have. I have sensitivity to various foods, so I have to be really careful. I haven’t experienced allergies to antibiotics, so I can’t say for sure- but I think it’s good to ask your doctor about it.
There is other antibiotics though right? If I get ill, I can just take others.
The antibiotics they give you for acne are different than the antibiotics they use to fight diseases. You should be good, as long as you take them exactly as directed. Are you by chance going through puberty? Or second puberty? If so, then your skin should clear up eventually and you will be able to stop taking them then. Mine was atrocious from 18-21, but then it got better.
I was lucky enough not to have a lot of acne as a teen.
No, I am 30 but I still get them, but now I take the antibiotics I get nothing at all. Yes, he told me that they were specifically for skin.
my daughter was on them for years as a child, because they kept finding Staph.
even thought she was MRSA at one time.
I think she’s on new round now, at age 26, but at one point, I said, No more.
