I wonder if my negative symptoms would have been better if I was treated earlier and didn’t wait until I tried to kill myself twice. Also if I didn’t stop my meds for 2yrs. My gp said my sz symptoms are from stress so he told me to quit university and work but my symptoms got worse because he didn’t refer me to a psychiatrist
yes, psychosis causes brain damage.
That part of psychosis scares me a little. I hate the idea that I most likely have brain damage from psychosis. I used to think i was autistic but now i think its cognitive and social problems caused by meds, brain damage, negative symptoms, drug/alcohol use as a pup and also long periods of isolation and stress.

I had some sort of attack where I got a massive headache , got confused and then got lost walking the dog. The strange part was that I lost like 10 or 15 pounds in like a week, and my diabetes worsened. I then regained that weight plus some over several weeks. I have wondered if it may have been some ssort of autoimmune attack. No one can explain this series of events to my satisfaction.
I mostly recovered cognitively, I think, but on occasion I do seem to have memory issues.
Personally I believe that your brain will recover to a sudden amount after being complying for maybe a decade. But of cause psychosis is toxic but not that toxic so Aziz there’s hope for us.

I’m quite sure psychosis leaves brain damage. My cracked brain is brain damage. If my cracked brain heals I won’t be psychotic anymore.
I wish mine heals one day so I can stop my meds or at least reduce my dose. Everytime I reduced my risperidone by 0.5mg I got symptoms
I’m symptomatic with 1.5mg vraylar and 20mg of olanzapine.
If you don’t have any positives then that’s good.

Did you try risperidone? I am on 6mg which is equivalent to 30mg olanzapine. Risperidone is very effective
Risperidone made me severely depressed.
I was full psychotic on 15mg olanzapine the dr told me i may be treatment resistant and wanted to try clozapine. Then risperidone worked it was a miracle. One pdoc tried to put me on 40mg olanzapine I said no way I don’t want to gain 200lb and get diabetes.
Ive never had severe long term effects as far as i know
Great that it worked. Clozapine can be a pain because of the blood monitoring.
I sold my Nintendo switch because of my negs. I can’t focus on gaming. Everything feels like an effort.
I don’t do much. Mostly I lie on the couch.
I’m glad I bought my headphones though. Those came in to good use.
