I have abused dexamphetamine. I think I destroyed my brain with it. Do you think it is still recovering? or is it permanent?

I havnrt done drugs for 5 years.

I think im recovering from brain damage.

I did some mdma last year and that was the only thing in 5 years

Good question… I think depression is quite bad for the brain too, it can lead to a dementia etc.

Hey wallafish, you know in my case, its changing all over the day… Today, before seeing my mom, I was depressed something like 7 or 8. Now, I am depressed something like 3… I just feel my brain in my head, idk why its like this and if its understandable for you. I guess, my brain is just too ‘‘sleepy’’ sometimes and that’s why I have this feeling to feel it. sorry, its crazy, but its like this…

Thank you wallafish  . But right now I feel just as bad person. I have my moments of strong jealousy still… I find hard the fact that I am just in the nothing since years. But maybe is hould realize that the fault is partly mine… some conscience, you know… But ill try to talk more about my psychotic symptoms, not this… Sometimes, I am just worried cause I am so lazy…ok, ill post in my thread now.

From what i’ve been told, when a person goes through a drug related psychosis, the symtoms go away after a certain period of sobriety from the drug(s) that caused it. Meds may be required for a period of time, but if it is just a drug-related psychosis, it’s not permanent.
I’ve read at one point going for psychosis for too long can cause brain damage. But it might be reversible with meds, don’t know.

I have been in psychosis for long period of time. I have not taken meds for 1 year since the start of the episode. After that i started taking meds and continuing. Is it possible for my brain to have gotten damaged. I dont remember good times, I dont see logic, I dont see anything making sense.
