Is man boobs reversible once u stop the antipsychotic

I took amisulpride baby dose 50-100mg for 1 week and my prolactin shot up from 9ng/ml to 54ng/ml(2-17)

If i develop man boobs are they reversible considering that i have taken drug for only 1 week ? How much time does it take to develop man boobs?? Is it months ?

Nope, when I lost weight and switched meds I got to keep the boobs lol! Be careful… one week shouldn’t do much, though. Took me months…

were your boobs mild, moderate or huge. Maybe mild cases are reversible ?

Talk to your doc. I got off risperdal for raised prolactin and never looked back. Zyprexa was way better for me as it turns out!

The fact that they had that class action lawsuit about boys developing breast from taking risperdal makes me think that it isnt reversible.

Its controversial cuz some people say its reversible and some say it isnt. Maybe mild cases r reversible. And moderate or huge boobs cases r not reversible.

I’m sorry I cant give you good news. I’m a girl and would like to keep the boob growth.:hugs::hugs:

I don’t think it’s reversible, but perhaps insurance will pay for their removal since it’s an antipsychotic that you needed and were prescribed, not a bad strain of heroin or something.

It was mild. I maybe gained half a cup size over 6 months… nothing happened till I was on it for at least a month!

oh so it took 6 months to grow boobs. And nothing happened for the first month of taking antipsychotic, right ?

Idk took 6 months for me to notice it. Since I was gaining weight I couldn’t tell what was what. It just changed like a tiny amount though. Just get off it right away if you’re worried and never look back as @rogueone said. Chances are you didn’t get boob growth.

Yea I didnt grew man boobs, i was just worried. I can’t continue this medicine. In 1 week it increased prolactin to 54ng/ml, plus my dose was also low. If I keep continuing this amisulpride and increase dose, i will prolly get prolactin 100+ ng/ml

Relax @clinic, you’re not going to grow man boobs.
It usually takes years of prolonged use of an AP that greatly increases prolactin.

i read it can go away if you take it less than 6 months continually, higher dose worse
