While food water shelter and stuff are the most important of needs. Can’t get to the top without having the bottom first.

Why do you need shelter and food if you are not loved…
sexual love between two people is the basis of the nuclear family, without that civilization will fall apart, though technological advancement can slow that process
without happy breeding couples, there is no way for the human race to continue to exist, we would go extinct, so youve got deep ancient machinery in your brain which wants you not only to do all the awesome varied life stuff you do do, but also get down with someone and catch feelings and have kids before it is too late, maybe even love those kids and raise them to be competitive existers who can support themselves and others and comfortably do the same in the next generation
this programming saw our ancestors through an ice age, and maybe eventually a nuclear holocaust
still, keep thinking and inventing things and being nice and productive and altruistic, but never fail to jump at the ability to get down and catch feelins and do all the good lovin’
of course after you are well fed and warm and safe
