Is it self-centered to work on being too self-centered?

I work too much on myself I think.

Na. Getting diagnosed really made me self reflect. I think it’s just a reality of the process. Like upkeep has increased and for me to get through a lot of situations I have to be more focused on myself and what I’m doing. It’s not being selfish…it’s just survival.

You can still be a kind human. You can still be a good brother, friend etc. I do think it’s unavoidable that the disorder makes you more insular and self focused. That is my take on it anyways.

Nah, you can definitely be breathing your own farts too much, and then get a wiff of something that makes you go, right, well thats heinous enough I gotta make some changes.

If you think you’re too self centered certainly give it a go, but I assume you’ll need to ask someone external for marking your progress.

Unfortunately I feel mental illness sort of forces one to be self centered…so much going on in your brain it can be difficult to pay attention to what’s going on around you…and it also requires a lot of focusing on yourself to work on it. But I don’t see anything wrong with being self centered if you are using that to improve yourself and quality of life. Sometimes I feel it is necessary to be self centered for our own wellbeing.

Depends what you mean by too self centred.

I am doing work on myself from Monday onwards. But I think it is for the better. Can’t help others if I can’t help myself.
Got therapy nowadays and I devote most of my productive time to that atm.
