Is it anxiety or hypomania

How can I tell if the anxious feeling is related to hypomania or depression ?

I’m fine right now but work definately triggers high levels of whatever it is. I can’t get away from those feelings even when I’m not at work.

I’m really not sure. I think if it resolves as soon as you separate yourself from it it’s probably anxiety. However we’re not pdocs so it’s just a guess. We’re not qualified to say for sure one way or another

I hope you can get help soon too. I hate anxiety. It’s so awful. I’m not sure about hypomania.

It’s hard to tell cos isn’t there even such a thing as manic depression. And perhaps anxiety can be a cause for mania like some sort of way to release anxiety :exploding_head:

I don’t know cos I’m not a professional unfortunately.

What I can tell u is that I personally do have social anxiety. And it manifests as feeling like a caged animal. Then again, I haven’t been clinically diagnosed surprisingly to me. Thou am confident I have it.

Hope u start to feel differently at some point.

Hypomania you feel euphoric. Anxiety you feel nervous. I had an episode lf hypomania recently and i felt so good. I didnt feel anxious at all.

I never get euphoric I don’t think I ever have I’ve just always had the anxiety and a lot of it is social anxiety.

You can’t tell unfortunately because anxiety can exist either with depression or hypo/mania or it can exist on its own.

Instead of focusing on how you are getting the anxiety try to focus on how to treat the anxiety.

Mood stabilizers not only help with quelling down mood fluctuations but they also help with quieting down anxiety.

Yes I’d like to try a mood stabilizer once I can get hold of an appointment… It’s just so difficult right now.

Are you qualified to get counselling or therapy under the NHS sometimes it can help if you really co operate with the therapist.

My GP asked me to self refer to talking therapies but they refused to see me because of my dx. Now I’m waiting for the next pdoc to see me so I can get therapy or meds
