Is having a problem with people feeling sorry for you common among sz people?

I feel this was a problem for me

is it common among other sz people?

It’s common among everyone with a disability or disease. I used to get pissed about it when I had a brain tumor as a kid and everyone treated me differently.

I have a feeling one of my brothers really feels very sorry for me. I don’t mind. It shows he is concerned.

I wouldn’t complain! I think it just shows someone who cares. Most don’t! Schizophrenia is a serious burden! It really is. I’d take the sympathy. I really would!

People sometimes give me “the look” when I tell them I have schizophrenia and hear voices.

But I agree with @rogueone, they do it because they care and it worries them that I’m going through that.
It just makes me feel like they feel they need to be extra careful around me, and it irks me a bit.

I’ve actually gotten ridicule and we-don’t-want-section-8 attitudes from a few people. On the other hand, I sorta like it when the same sympathy that’s extended to cancer victims is extended to me.

I hate people feeling sorry for me. Cause then they try to fix me.

no. they help sex offenders stalk me, every chance they get. when I get angry about the sex offenders, they accuse me of the stupid things they do. no longer homeless, and the same idiots trying to make me homeless again, because they’re all mostly interested in turning people into freaks, who make phony liars look good.
