Or is it not because its possible?
it could be paranoia but it also could be real huh… why do you think this?
I don’t think it anymore but used to think it when I was 11. Just wondering if its related to psychosis in anyway, I had other delusions back then too
it could be related to psychosis yea
When my daughter was 12 she didn’t have a phone, but I kept an eye on her browser history. That’s how I spotted the searches on self-harm, suicide, and bullying. It resulted in us pulling her from her abusive school and home-schooling until we moved to a larger town where she could start over. She admits now it was a good thing although she personally hated me over it for a couple of months at the time.
By age 15 I backed off her search history and she had a phone, and I mainly kept tabs on the GPS when she was out of the house for extended periods. I backed off more and more as she approached 18. Now that she’s almost 20, I won’t even go in her bedroom without knocking as it is HER space.
I think some monitoring of minors is appropriate, but that it should be tailored to their age and you should provide kids with more opportunities to make their own mistakes and learn from them as they approach adulthood if they are to function well as adults.
I see. I personally think that someone should’ve checked what websites I’m on at age 9-12 because I was googling bad stuff for a 9yo… but no one did until I got in trouble at school bc of my internet use at age 11
