It would seem to me that inducing a seizure in a person’s brain would be harmful. The psychiatric profession has excuses for everything. They can justify this form of treatment. ECT is a barbaric, stupid, harmful, primitive form of treatment. It is sometimes abused to mollify recalcitrant patients.

My mother-in-law thinks I’m a bum, and lets me know it regularly. And she’s an awful cook.
So I get shocked twice when I visit.

I have done ECT, at least 3 times as i remember, now that I think more clear, sth comes to my mind that before ECT my meds didn’t work but after that my meds started to work but I have heard some people get worse so look at your condition, if meds are working then don’t do ECT but if they don’t work and your situation is unbearable then ECT can be an option,

ECT? I had 3 series of 6 weeks, m w f.
First 3 weeks, in hospital.
Last 3 weeks, with someone. Can’t stay alone.
They put you in a gown and adult diaper. I never needed the diaper.
They start an iv.
They put you to sleep.
They induce a seizure.
They wake you up.
This helped me. My depression was super bad. It’s now more controlled.

When I was in the hospital a lady was getting ect and she could barely walk and couldn’t eat. She really looked messed up. But there was a guy who looked fine after. I guess people react differently.
I tried ect but i think a bottle of higher spirits is more effective cheaper and pleasant.
I would never do ects. I had a friend that got ect treatment. Notice how i used the word ‘had’? Yeah, she didnt even remember me as being her friend. She knew me, but she was very obviously in a different world. I hope they ban it soon. I seriously doubt it will be around in the upcoming 30s.

Please look up peter breggins on YouTube before you do that. It does more harm than good and it’s not reversible.

I was so treatment, my pdoc talked me into it. The first 2 series of 6 weeks mwf were fine. The 3rd series was done by a different pdoc. I lost memories, permanently.
Just be sure you can trust the pdoc. Mine was Ahmed Farooque in Murfreesboro tn

I know people who its worked on !!
They came out of severe depression.
If or when you got nothing left in life and all you want to do is die, I dont see the harm of using it !!
