I went past 58kg on olanzapine, sertraline and other med combo within 2-3 months from 49kg. After getting on amisulpride and getting rid of some anxiolytics and sertraline weight dropped to 51-52kg.

Amisulpride is not approved in north americas. I think.

I lost weight on Latuda but got severe athkasia on it. I was pacing constantly, talking all the time, having severe insomnia, and having manic like episodes.

As I lowered by dose of Olanzapine (40mg) I began to lose some weight. When I finally quit Olanzapine and started Lurasidone (60mg) I lost more weight, about 80lbs lost in total.

Lurasidone(Latuda) didnā€™t cause any weight gain for me, in fact after I completely switched over to it I lost about 20lbs without changing my diet and no exercise.

Lurasidone, after about 2 years, gave me akathisia as my only side effect. For that I take 75mg if Trazodone and it completely eliminates the akathisia.

I read about a patient who had gained lot of weight on olanzapine or something. He was switched to haloperidol which helped him with losing it.

I lost 100 pounds on Haldol, but it required regular exercise and tracking, counting, weighing etc all my food and counting to 1200 calories. Males should eat no less than 1500 calories though.

geodon doesnt cause weight gain for me, actually might cause weight loss unless im just losing weight from no longer being on a med that causes weight gain and messes up metabolism

Studies I read all say Haldol is the AP that causes the least weight gain but its a typical so I am afraid of it causing movement problems, maybe even permanent.

Donā€™t take Invega and serotia. The combination of the two is terrible for weight gain. I lost my weight when I took a not so known drug called abdin. They work well and got me thin again

It is infamous for movement disorder.

Geodon has been weight neutral for me. It has some side effects though. My dr recently lowered my dose twice for side effects. It didnā€™t really help though.

Side effects:

Donā€™t cry (this is supposed to be the last line, but I canā€™t get to that line)

Go to sleep an hour and a half after taking medicine

Sexual side effects

Canā€™t take naps

Canā€™t sleep in

Restlessness - constantly doing something

Donā€™t laugh

No appetite

Vision got worse

Stopped periods

Bad dreams

Donā€™t smile

Bored all of the time

Canā€™t read a book

Donā€™t

i had some of those effects the last time i was on it, especially the bored all the time, cant read a book, and needing to go to sleep an hour after taking it.

this time around ive been having a different experience although its only been a few days so far, i can sleep at night, it doesnt make me fall asleep after taking it, but also my appetite hasnt reduced yet like it did in the past so it may have not been enough time being off my old med and on this one for the changes in side effects to take place

Iā€™ve had some weight gain on Geodon and Seroquel and Clopixol I guess Iā€™ve gained 25 lbs. But lately Iā€™ve lost 16 lbs. It was quite easy to loose weight by changing my diet to my ancestors the Huguenots from avignons diet. Yes frankly speaking white bread lots of France cheeses, fish every day, vegetables every day and oats every day. All that fixed my weight. The trick is to eat lots of fat. A moderate amount of proteins. And to a lesser degree carbohydrates.

I stayed skinny on Geodon. But now that I have added Latuda I put on about 50 pounds. I hear itā€™s supposed to be weight neutral also.
