Is 55 degrees f indoors too cold

my heat isnt working properly and i feel like im freezing, got extra clothes on but my hands are cold are starting to feel stiff

I used to live in a place like that. It’s long underwear and flannel sheets on the bed and throw a heavy sleeping bag on top.

I know the feeling. Same here where I’m living.
I wear fingerless gloves.
I just bought some cheap gloves and cut the ends off :wink:

Like I just said in another post, right now I am experiencing apartment freezing. My apartment furnace kicked the bucket. Right now it is 66.4 degrees fahrenheit in my living room. Before, it was 57degrees fahrenheit, but I turned the oven on, opened the oven door and put my big fan in front of it.

If I keep this up today, again the temperature eventually climbs up to 74.

I set the oven temp to the 170 minimum.

i have a small heater (like the size of a shoebox) but i have to be right in front of it and the air comes out hot but doesnt reach very far

If you can, please get a new space heater ASAP. I am generally comfortable at around 65, but not everyone is. I think you should bundle up, even if it means toting a big comforter or quilt around with you.

Thank god I love in Florida now, I grew up in New York and I would be cold most of the time.sorry to hear that you are in such a bad situation but it is also dangerous to use an oven like that. I don’t know if anyone hear now remember me but I am looking forward to getting back here.

Yes, 55 degrees F. indoors is way too cold. You should have a temperature of at least 68 degrees F.

Is there any way you could afford a little larger of a heater? I’ve got a pretty small heater that can warm up a room.
