Having this happen to me… Is it the Invega? I’m only 28.
You a male or female? On risperdal I had orgasms where nothing came out. I kinda felt the climax/pleasure but nothing came out. My doctor said “orgasms are very important” and switched me to saphris ATT. I was In the hospital. I’m a male btw.
Well of course I’m a male. If I were a female, nothing should be coming out anyway lol…
Idk maybe girls get wet when they have orgasms and it’s unnatural to have an orgasm without getting wet??? Idk I’m not an expert in female anatomy ;). But what I described that I experienced, is what you experienced???
what??
how do I get some of that?
I think it’s my anti depressant that stops me.
Yeah I’m getting the same thing as what you described Chew. Really just want to know whether it’s my Invega or my body.
Probably the meds. Although I’ve never been on invega, I think it’s similar to risperdal. My doctor was a firm believer that if you get sideaffects, it’s not the right med for you. And so I’ve tried like ten meds, finally found abilify which gives me no sideaffects. And I’m happy.
I’m on Invega.
I can’t imagine a psych med makes you horney.
Thankfully you still got it, baby.
@sooner Im on invega max dose and used to get that all the time when i first started on it. The symptom has since cesed and things flow as they should. It took a little while for my body to get adjusted to the invega, virtually crushed my sex drive because of all the issues, but i dont know if it was all to blame on the invega. I think My wife said the antidepressants effect sex drive more than APs do generally, but i could be wrong. Are you also on any antidepressants or benzos?
Wow that’s nice. I’ve never had a prescriber take sexual side effects seriously. And I agree, orgasms are really important, it’s not just something to shrug off if you can’t experience it.
Sometimes when I have an orgasm a little sperm comes out, and other times nothing comes out. My ejaculation sperm decreased with each med I was put on. First, it cut down the amount of sperm until there wasn’t much coming out, and sometimes nothing comes out at all. I’m not too worried about it. It’s probably too late for me to become a father. I’m nearly 58 years old. By the time my oldest kid was 10 I would be 68. I imagine that if you want to have babies there are ways they can increase your sperm.
Crimby, that must be what he means by ‘Dry Orgasm’
Well, Anna, that’s probably sexism at work for you.
I’m taking Xanax and was taking Lexapro but stopped that today due to weight gain. I’ve been on Xanax for years with no problems so I really think it has to be the Invega, or potentially the Lexapro.
I have NO sex drive at all. No interest. But I’ve tried to force myself to masturbate a few times since starting the Invega and couldn’t ejaculate, lost interest very quickly. Now I finally had an orgasm but still didn’t ejaculate. Very worrying.
It’s actually a good thing that my sex drive is low because when I’m hypomanic it goes CRAZY.
I would def talk to your pdoc about it. On invega My drive is still not even close to what it used to be but the lack of ejaculation i think may be concerning. In the beginning i would still get a drop or two. Hopefully its just your body getting used to it, i have returned to normal output since but its been over a year since i switched to invega.
This ghetto wench can help you with sexual disfunction, which I suffer from too. I take invega injections and from what I’ve learned your body adjusts to the side effects.
I take invega, and I also have dysfunction sexually. It is near impossible to become aroused and I don’t masturbate so my genitalia is pretty much shriveling up. It sucks and it seems that alot of people get attacked by side effects and for once in my life I wish there was an effective way to prevent side effects completely. It’s just like being punished with medicine to me, and I too get really tired of it.
We haven’t had sex in a week or two, and I don’t masturbate. I dunno, I hope it goes away for everyone…
Could this be due to the high prolactin levels that Invega causes? If so maybe adding Abilify will help, I’ve read that Abilify can significantly reduce Prolactin levels.
I’m really unsure, sooner. I mean it could definitly be that but you know maybe get your blood tested and see if there’s something out of place with that maybe? I mean do you measure prolactin by taking blood right??
I dunno, I’m very lethargic and don’t get aroused too easily but still function somewhat.
Yeah I’m getting prolactin checked on Monday hopefully, along with my Thyroid since I’m on Lithium which can mess with that. Been gaining a lot of weight really fast.
