My therapist recommend this book which is pretty popular I guess and I bought a used copy on eBay. I think most of my weight gain is from Risperdal but I think a lot of tips in the book are helping with my bingeing and I feel less anxious about eating in general. I still keep a food diary but am not as concerned about calories or treating myself. It’s nice to take a less stressful approach to dieting and I agree with the books assertion that I often use food to deal with uncomfortable emotions. I also think I am paying more attention to how nourished my body feels which probably helps keep my blood sugar levels more even. I think it is a book that works better after you have tried some diets and have some basic knowledge about nutrition and the pros/cons of food components but I don’t think it is a complete substitute for dieting as the book proclaims, at least for us folks on meds.

I just put a request in the library for this book. There is a line of people ahead of me to read it.

Processed food is manufactured to be as addictive as possible in order to maximise sales. Steer clear, even in small amounts.
I eat what i feel like and it is often if not always for good nutrition. I eat my feelings too though:wink:.
