I’m going to go in for an interview tomorrow at a survey call center. I’ve done call center work before and excelled at it… before falling ill, though, so I’m anxious, lol.
This call center job, however, is supposed to be way easier than my last one. My last one was centered around helping people deal with credit/debit card fraud. It could get quite complex; sometimes you’d be dealing with fraudsters themselves so you had to thoroughly authenticate every caller and that could get tricky. This one will just involve asking people questions and typing their answers into a computer system. You can’t stray off the script and you’re allowed to tell customers that which doesn’t bother me at all, lol. It should only be part-time if you want it to be, too, which will be good for me since I’m hoping to keep my disability for at least a little while longer while I work on recovering from some mood issues.
I’m probably getting way ahead of myself in assuming I’ll even get the job, though they’re pretty lax about the hiring process. We’ll see.
Sounds good. Good luck with it. I always found repetitive jobs to be easy for me. Doing something by the book is easier for my mind which used to wander a lot. I’m sure you’ll be fine and anything that isn’t too stressful sounds good to me. Wish you well.
So today I just filled out a paper application; they were willing to interview my mom (who also applied) and me this evening but we opted to instead be interviewed tomorrow morning.
I’ve got another day to practice being peppy and confident.
Edit to say that it’s a weird place - you just walk in and apply and boom, interview. They’re notorious for always being desperate for workers, lol
Thank you all so much! I hope your interview went well @anon98459728!
I start training tomorrow at 5 pm. Ahhhh I’m nervous. I hope I can keep myself together enough to actually learn. I’m kind of rusty when it comes to this work thing, lol.
Yay. So cool and just do your best. A job is a job. If work was fun the world would be a much different place but in the meantime just keep cool. Keep the stress low and live life with few expectations…
Without expectations you’ll never be disappointed.
That’s a good approach to have towards life. I’m going to do my best and heck, even if this doesn’t work out, there will always be other opportunities.
