I don’t think spending a lot of time on your pc and phone is bad. Only older generation would say so and peer pressure the young. I remember that my grandmother told me not to hold my phone or use it while it is charging because it’s dangerous. And my mom shouting at me that I am almost like a drug addict that I binged on one of my games when I was younger. Even though video games helped me to learn history and English that lead me graduating from university with bachelor’s and finding a good job for me in a foreign country. I don’t regret bing gaming back in the day as I remember really enjoying doing it. I also educated myself how to avoid scams and read news as often as possible. Also writing formal emails and letters really helped using a computer.
Nowadays I’m too stressed or tired or even negatives are interrupting me from playing video games.

Im sure smartphones has helped People,
But IMO, it gets too much.

If you are talking about mental information stimulus you might be right, but information is everywhere in Tv, billboards, radio, newspaper, books, conversations. Most people live in towns or cities so constant background noise and many faces make only worse. When I people say that sitting on their phone makes too much dopamine and I answer - what about food? Conversation? Being in love or having sex? How about sleep? How about exercising? Of course looking at a screen can have affect your strained eyes, or your focus on surroundings but who doesn’t? I have neighbour that has never watched tv and read newspaper once every week and is almost blind. Reading a book or listening to music can be distracting as well as having meaningless convo with someone.
