My dad called me to tell me about this. It is a virtual world type chat app. You create an anonymous avatar and can attend groups related to certain mental health topics. A microphone is needed so you can chat with guides and other players. I talked to a guide who told me the game is moderated 24/7 by guides to keep trolls out. This is a big draw for me because all the other chat games like this are trolled pretty heavily.
It is totally mental health themed and is backed by some big health orgs. After you attend a group meeting, you can apparently get access to game rooms and other cool features.
It’s free btw.
Figured I’d share as it might be a good resource for others who are homebodies, like myself
Kind of reminds of second life that one loaded the worst graphics on my computer that is pretty decent for some reason. I’d still like to try this though.
I didn’t try a group yet, but I saw there were a couple of people loading into the agoraphobia group earlier on the lobby list. I didn’t keep watching to see how many actually ended up joining, though.
It was on CNN last night, and the music artist “Jewel” was talking about it. She’s a co-founder. I’d imagine that will bring more people in as well.
