Im pretty much done with this song and im finishing up the bridge. im kinda satisfied but it kinda still feels empty. Am i wrong if so…any suggestions ? I know I have someone to put in good bass …maybe that will complete it? ALso the mix/master is just rough draft…So ignore that lol
It starts with the hook btw

Maybe an intro would be cool, but I think you’re overthinking it a little bit

Tbh I don’t love the drums in the middle part. It’s kinda disconnected from the song…
You now what I mean? The swung drums

Dud just muted the snare and it’s way cohesive!!! I still want a snare so I’m gonna re do it…

It sounded like reggae out of nowhere lol. Try to straighten the rhythm maybe?

I just put a 440ms delay and it sounds a little better…I might have to just use a straight snare without delay… I kinda wanted a little atmospheric feel to it but might not fit

It’s not the delay it’s the notes imo they are subdivided in triplet grid or smthing?
I’m using 3/32 nots on the end of pattern …pretty close to triplets.
I’ma maybe try echo too …

Try setting them to 1/8 or so? Or use the same grid as before?

I’ma send the updated version…I used 1/8 with a lot of swing and it sounds decent but still disconnected. 1/8 straight is completely disconnected tho…
The whole bride piano, sax and guitar is using 3/32 notes too.
I’m gonna put some work in and post before I send you the track

Instead of a snare why don’t you use cymbals to create the airy feel?

I might try it!!! I think I got the snare right with those swung 1/8 nots but I might put in cymbals too lol
Or you could put some in with the bass?? I’m really starting to see the fun in working with people

Thanks bro!!! Just listened again and I’m not satisfied with it. I think the sax needs some work
.
Also I know your more on the electronic music… Any ideas on how to add a little atmosphere or ambience? That’s what I was going for with the snare but I want a more ambient feel
