Injection felt like it wore off a couple of days before my next

I just got my 3rd paliperidone injection yesterday. The first 2 were about a month ago and were loading doses.

About 2 days ago I found my sleep pattern changed, I felt very hyper sexual, and some paranoia began to return.

Had injection 24 hours ago and just this afternoon I’m feeling back on keel.

Does anyone else have this towards the end of the month? Maybe it was just a bad couple of days ? I had to have my lock changed on my door a few days ago and that might have thrown me off. It upset me a bit.

You’re not the first person I’ve seen ask that question on here. I don’t get injections so don’t have experience with them but it’s possible.

Having said that I take pills and still have good days and bad days.

If it happens again make sure you report it to your doctor.

I found that that mine would wear off a few days before my paliperadone jab was due too. I was starting to have breakthru symptoms. Maybe you need your dose adjusting? They increased mine from 75 to 100mg month and i havent had problems since.

I get depixol depot it totally feels like it doesn’t last till the next injection. The 2 preceding days before the next injection are a bit weird.

Thanks. I will see what next month brings. And perhaps something can be given as relief if it happens again. Not sure I want dosage increased but we will see.

I was on 400mg Aripiprazole (Ability) and that wore off one week before my next injection and I become psychotic again. It was changed to Paliperidone 75mg and I have been okay since.

this is a common complaint with the injections, there’s not a uniform release over time so people get breakthrough symptoms. you need to consider taking the injections closer together, upping or lowering the dose and maybe supplementing with oral invega or risperidone during the last 1/3 of the month. the most important thing is that you aren’t psychotic for a long period of time and don’t harm yourself or anyone else.

I had this problem when I first started getting monthly injections, so my dr upped the frequency to every three weeks.
