My doc increased my Zyprexa from 10 mg daily to 15 mg. Anyone take a similar dose of Zyprexa and have luck? I’m.hoping this increase will help me feel even better.

I only take 7.5 mg as my lowest effective dose. I was on 10 mg for seven weeks and then went down to 7.5. My pdoc and I were expecting that I would need to go to 20 mg since I was on 30 mg of Haldol and still having breakthrough symptoms, but we were pleasantly surprised that I am completely controlled on 7.5 mg.
I think your increase will help you if you’re already getting good results on 10 mg. When I was on Haldol, I started at only 7.5 mg and then gradually made it up to 30. On Abilify, I started at 5 mg and ended up at 30. Only at 30 mg of Abilify did I stop having psychotic symptoms (I came off due to significant weight gain). So maybe it will be the same for you - a higher dose is what you need.
I wish you all good luck! Just wanted to give your thread a bump even though I’m on a lower Zyprexa dose than you.
I’m glad that 7.5 mg is working for you @anon39736208
I was on 15mg, it seemed to be more effective at that dosage. I’m a pretty big guy and tend to need higher doses.
Paging @agent101g. I’m not sure whether he’s on 10 or 15 mg, but hopefully he can give you some advice.
I know rogueone is on 10 mg. so that won’t help you. I’m trying to help!
Thanks for the bumps guys! Haha. Go Zyprexa!
Good luck @TheCanuk, Zyprexa is a very effective medication.
Thanks @Wave !

My doctor tried to raise me from 10 mg to 15 mg of Zyprexa and I didn’t do well on it, the side effects which had gone away came back. She lowered me back to 10 and kept me there. It might be different for you though.
As already stated I’m only on 10 but my breakthroughs are minimal. If I was getting more symptoms or stressed I wouldn’t hesitate going up to 15. I was on 7.5 for a long while but 10 just sits a bit better for my mind. See how it goes. I don’t think it would be too bad for extrapyramidal but we are all different.
Let us know how you go and I’ll keep an eye out for your progress!
Thanks for the replies guys.
