In what year you got / bought your first computer?

Oh god, I don’t even know. Maybe I was 21 so 34 years ago. I won $5000 bucks in Reno and bought a nice pc. I used Paint to make some nice art and my brother would never believe I made it. He didn’t think I was that talented. Um, I think that was pre internet.

I got my first computer (that I owned) in 2008. Id use comptuers before but never had my own. It was an eMac. A really low spec apple mac. It could run logic on it (that was the main reason I got it) as long as I didnt use too many demanding plugins. Was really sad to throw it away but as the web grew more complicated it became less and less able to browse on the web.

Oh lord.

My sister and I used to get in so much trouble for printing paint pictures we’d made.

It used up so much toner.

I’m pretty sure 1986, an Atari. That’s all I can remember about it now. I’m pretty sure I had an IBM PC by 1990.

Sometime in the early 90’s my parents got a family computer that looked very similar to this one:

Used to play KidPix, Spelunx, and some other stuff on there a lot.

First personal computer I ever got was in 2006 for college— was a MacBook Pro laptop.

My parents bought an Apple II E computer in 1987 or ‘88. As an adult both my ex husband and my husband - had computers I would use.

I got mine around 1988 and had one ever since. Floppy disc drives and all. Was earlier than hard drives even.

My dad installed a computer in my room in 1998. I lived with him at the time. He knew that I would decline the offer so he didn’t ask if I wanted it. I would furiously tap away at it every morning writing emails.

And the number of your current computer? Mine is a 5th one - I’ve bought all of them myself.

My first computer was some beige I think Systemax tower running XP from my grandpa in the mid 2000s. It had something like 256 MB of RAM. It was pretty awful, but I learned BASIC on it. My dad finally replaced it eventually with a Toshiba laptop running Windows 7. I used to rent books from the library on programming and taught myself C++. I think I used that Dev-C++ IDE.
