I started medication in prodromal phase. I was diagnosed schizotypal before I started hearing voices and having delusions. And I am lucky that we started antipsychotics so early. It has better prognosis. In prodromal phase I had mood swings. When did you start meds?

wow how did you anticipate that you were in the prodromal phase? did your pdoc catch it? I didn’t take my meds until after my third hospitalization when I stabilized. that was 21 years ago.

I didn’t know I was in prodromal. I had bizarre ideas, social withdrawal, confusion, disorganized thinking, mood swings. Now I understand that I was in prodromal

I wasn’t prescribed APs until after my psychotic break. I believe I was in my prodromal phase for about 4-5 years. I had no idea I was in it – I started having odd beliefs, totally withdrew from my friends and school, started drinking heavily.

After my bad experience with hallucinogenic drugs. I started going downhill. I was already messed up in some manners before that which lead me to doing drugs. I swear had already heard voices since 16. I remember around 19 and 3 months I heard voices and music from laughing ladies downstairs. Then I did drugs 1-2 months later other than weed for the first time. In May of the next year, I was prescribed Wellbutrin. It kicked me in the ass gave me terrible psychosis. I then prescribed risperdal. Even this gave me psychosis. So was hospitalized and put on zyprexa and haldol and Thorazine. And was stabilized. Went back to school. Went off my meds again. Had delusions for the first time rather than hallucinations. Thought I was an experiment. So I drove my car madly. Got arrested with five charges. Since it’s been mostly down too till I found meds that help me now life is pretty alright getting better since dec 2015 . I can’t complain.
