I’ve been told that my ankle can bear full weight which surprised the doctor when he did the second xray after my surgery. Said I shouldnt have as much pain after the ankle heals. But I was told take easy for the first two weeks. And if I continue to have arthritis pain he will recommend further xrays

You’re going to have that ankle for life. If you don’t follow the doctors instructions for the next two weeks you could re-injure it and wreck it for life. Don’t let ANYTHING get in the way of taking care of it just as the doctor instructed.

I second what nick said.
I’m living proof of what happens when not staying off a broken foot in my case does long term…although it wasn’t my choice, I pay for it in chronic pain.

My partner said the same thing. But the doctor seems optimistic that My ankle pain was mainly due to the screws and plate. He said I will experience pain for awhile but hopefully not permanent. He said he is going to order another x-ray to check how the bones are healing before I see him the 30th.
My father in law hasn’t talked to me much but my mother in law seems understanding

Maybe, but the body doesn’t lie.
Pain tells us it’s not okay, so listen to your ankle first, even if it differs from your Dr.
Walk when your ready, but pain that persists, tell your Dr and insist (if necessary) it’s still not ok.
They can be wrong too.

It hurts now when I try to walk on it. My mother in law has been nice about. Sorta anyway. My partner’s little sister is hoping I have less pain in my ankle so we can walk to the park more but I told her it will never be 100 percent.

The true test will be tonight when my father in law gets off work. My partner said the rabbit hutch needs cleaned and our trash needs taken out. She said she will do that tomorrow when she’s off work. But my father in law isn’t the most compassionate

Call your caseworker immediately if he doesn’t show compassion.
