I'm turning into my mother

She doesn’t like herself and I feel the same way.

I need to put a stop to this before it is so deeply ingrained that I can’t change it. Before it’s too late or at least feels like too much time has gone past. I’m already 30.i can’t take this much longer.

What kind of ways do you think you are like your parents.

How does one learn to like oneself regardless of their imperfections

I can’t even look at her much atm. It’s for a personal reason too though about being deeply disloyal twice. And I heard her in my head and it was awful in the past.

My Dad is like Spock …all logic and stoic to the bone. Mom is like Mary Poppins…all music and pure creativity.

It’s no wonder I ended up Schizophrenic. My whole life I couldn’t decide whether or not to open my own business, or write a musical play!

I really didn’t know my mother. My parents divorced when I was 5 or six (my dad raised me). Then when I was 13 she died.

I love my mom. She does well in everything she does. She is a talented gardener and designer. Also she learned how to swim and ride a bike.

I love my mom, too. She lived with us when we bought our first home, and it was nice having her company. She has her own place now, but when she’s elderly or needs somewhere to go, she’s always welcome back.

Yes, she does. I’ve made it very clear to her that if she needs to come back for any reason, we will work out arrangements.

I’ve heard a couple of guys say that they swore they’d never be like their dads, and they turned out just like them. There are some disturbing similarities between me and my own dad. I believe I have it under control, though. Pick out the worst aspects of your mother, and get rid of those, but don’t get worried if you have similar, harmless personality traits.

Thanks, that’s solid advice
