I see @TomCat
I don’t qualify then.
Sorry to hear about your loss.
Assisted and independent living facilities are a great resource. I have stayed awhile in two different independent living facilities. Had a good time. Good luck @Montezuma
Could your VA help facilitate that?
I feel like there are probably lots of guys in a similar situation.
They most likely can help
I know there are social-workers who help with things like that.
It appears that VA social workers can help with literally everything.
A roommate could be great.
Maybe even someone who has compatible mental health issues?
In the meantime, keep getting out there, man.
Any change like this is going to take some time,
So you have to make adjustments in the interim.
Have you ever considered volunteer work?
Yeah it’s all just an idea at this point.
But thank you for the advice.
I was volunteering at a local thrift store. But I did something really embarrassing.
So I don’t go there anymore.
Understood.
Embarrassing myself is one of the few things I truly excelled at.
LOL.
Oh believe me, I think I have a PhD in it.
Why the heck would these people need to live in assisted living then? I am perplexed by that idea, that’s why i’m picking on the point. Why would u want to if ur high functioning. I’ve met szs who live in group homes with severe cognitive problems, that makes sense to me.
Sorry, I might have worded it kind of weird but what I mean is transitional housing for people who want to live on their own eventually. There are different levels of housing here with different expectations/rules.
