I’m spending my days finding out as much about schizophrenia as possible. It’s consuming me, wanting to know more and more about this “uncurable illness”. It’s also really beneficial to know as much as possible for ones own knowledge. A lot of doctors can’t even explain that much.
Currently researching schizophrenia in different countries such as South Korea and Japan.
It is good to be educated in your disorder! Plus the more you know the symptoms, the less likely they’ll be able to sneak up on you and the better insight you’ll have. Like you can say “oh that news anchor isn’t giving me a special message, that’s called an idea of reference and is a part of psychosis”
So cool keep looking up all you can find! And share any interesting stuff with us
I’m curious, I thought it would be difficult to have mental illness and survive out of the work force in those hyper capitalistic Asian countries. So is it?
Yeah I like the new name of schizophrenia. The former one has a negative image and put stigma on schizophrenics. It is hard to survive within competitive work environment and we have a lot of mental illnesses such as depression and panic disordor.
Yeah, I can’t imagine living in such a competitive country. Even in America I lived in a pretty chilled out part of the country but now I’m living in the most chill part of the world (Southeast Asia)
It’s good for you to know about yourself and your illness. I don’t think it’s ocd but curiosity. And In the competitive environment, it is easy to get illness (but they have good sides too) Why did you move to southeast? I’m thinking to move to a more easy-going place inthe future if possible. But I like my country…!
I have been an English teacher in Taiwan and now Thailand. It’s nice here, people are friendly, and it’s really cheap to live. I don’t have to work too hard or spend a lot.
When I first got it I read a book that my dad ordered called schizophrenia for dummies or something like that.one of the for dummies book series. It made me realize how hard schizophrenia can screw you and how bad the prognosis is and that about half of us have dual diagnosis meaning addicted to drugs too. To be honest it almost made me give up on trying anymore.
