There’s a snowmobile trail I like to walk on. It’s nice, unless there are people wizzing past you on snowmobiles…
That’s about it.
Mmm, yes. Nice and remote would be lovely!
Thats pretty cool living somewhere where there’s snowmobiles, I’d enjoy that. Glad you can relate
Yes, would be better if I had my own snowmobile. Haha
Fishing sounds nice, too (I always feel bad for the fish, though). But it is winter, right now, and ice fishing is not very fun. That would have to wait till summer.
My in laws sound a lot like your doctor, I try to do things around the apartment. I’m sorry you have no support outside of the internet.
Oh dear, I’m sorry about your in-laws.
And it’s whatever, I guess. There’s not much I can do about it.
Some people experience symptoms like hearing or seeing things that aren’t there, but aren’t Schizophrenic. But I guess with the DSM some people think otherwise.
I got told by a friend before going into hosp that I had been “gifted!” As to demons, have you tried labelling them as voices and using mindfulness techniques (mindful breathing) till your left with only the nice ones?
Hey, sometimes you get better and go into remission for periods of time. These are the best times for people like us with schizoaffective schizophrenia or bipolar1. I have been in remission but I had to go back on Abilify before I became worse. I actually have been taking Vyvanse at 40 mgs. The best medications for me: Seroquel, Abilify, Gabapentin, Strattera, Vyvanse, Lexapro, Stattera, Adderall. The medication that I couldn’t handle because of side effects: Geodon, Lamictal, Ritalin, Risperdal, Xanax, Ativan, etc. I can describe what works best for me and others in certain situations, because I have good insight. My friend just switched to Geodon and I warned him about it. He said it is affecting his breathing like it did me. I think he would do better on Seroquel or Zyprexa but he has to ask his doctor.
Abilify got rid of my symptoms over time. I have Bipolar 1 now, because I have mood issues like flat affect and dysphoria, more like psychotic depression is how my new psychiatrist describes it. That’s why Vyvanse with Abilify is the most affective. Vvyanse is working like an anti-depressant. I might switch to Stattera which is even more-so what I might need, but last time I took it, made me too hyper and happy and high sex drive. I don’t take SSRI’s but not all of them are bad.
You might have Bipolar with possible psychosis like me. Bipolar 1 is better than schizophrenia because you aren’t always suffering from flat affect and paranoid delusions. Once you effectively treat that spectrum–if you are lucky enough to respond right to medication and therapy, sometimes you go into remission and the symptoms reverse or disappear. Not all meds mask symptoms, some cure them over time. Bipolar is curable this way because it is not neurodegenerative as much as schizophrenia, and is not as chronic but needs to be treated for your life, but the symptoms themselves may change over time.
It’s actually a little known fact but depression can actually cause symptoms like schizophrenia in terms of psychosis. When that happens it’s automatically considered severe. I don’t know what you have because I barely even know you but just thought more information is always good. And knowing is half the battle. GEEEE EYEEEE JOEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Yes, my therapist had me doing stuff like that but it never helps me. I still do it though.
Some people describe things like that as a box of tricks/tools!
That you can learn or accumulate over time that you can keep for when you need them.
For me relaxation and meditation helps most of the time but when it stops I have other tricks I use to stay well. Like listening to music on a 2 hr timer when I goto bed etc.
Although I might try to find a beginners yoga or tai chi class as part of staying healthy this year!
