Because if and when they are there is no way I’ll cope. I only cope now in my limited way because things are set up to allow me to cope.

Do you have a local Mind that could give you support… they helped when I moved into my apartment, set up water and fuel accounts, got me a grant for £1000 to decorate and buy appliances, they helped a lot.

Don’t you have any relatives you could rely on? I remember you talking about a stepdaughter, a granddaughter… there may be others but I can’t recall.
Man, that really stinks and if it’s an old flat it’s probably pretty cool too…Well pack up and move your household big man. High time you went on an adventure anyhow
I have a local Mind but have had no dealings with them. The only way I could cope is If I had a lot of help with the logistics of things ie bank,utilities, social security, internet etc and with setting up appliances,decorating and furnishing a new place.
The only trouble is I don’t think the powers to be know how much of a problem this is for me.
@Andrey I have relatives but none that live near. They would be limited in what they can do.
My youngest step daughter is more aware of my difficulties/ limitations than psychiatric services or indeed my birth family.
I don’t think it matters if you have no dealings with them, they should offer support anyway. Also they will understand that it’s more difficult moving homes for a person with a mental illness. It’s stressful enough even if you don’t have a MI. It’s up to you, you could give them a ring and ask, nothing to lose.

I recommend you start saving if you don’t have any savings, that would help hell of a lot with a move if it comes up.
Savings are not a problem.
