You shouldn’t die, @Wave. What a lovely person you are! In the face of cruelty you survive and still love. Can you volunteer at the shelter where your dog is going? Or another shelter?
When someone who is abusive towards you “abandons” you, even when/if they mean you harm in doing so, it’s actually your chance to escape. Don’t look back, @Wave! Take whatever opportunities come for your survival and don’t look back!
This must be such an overwhelming time, I know. But you’re not done yet.
I’m crying as I write this. I wanted to kill myself today. Life is just overwhelming and so hard sometimes, but when I see you at that point I so much want you to go on. I promise that things will get better. You’re leaving a bad situation, and even though it’s scary your life is actually taking a good turn. Stay here, @Wave. I’m staying too.

If I commit suicide, this would give my Abusers great satisfaction, and I don’t want this from them.

Sorry to hear you had to surrender your dog, @Wave, that just plain stinks. Animals are much better for us than humans, (especially our own family-for some of us anyway), and they never forget who took good care of them.
I believe there is a special place when it’s our time to go, that we meet up again with all the pets we loved, and those who were mean to animals, well,…they will meet up with something more of their own kind.
Hope you live your life well enough and definitely long enough to be a boil on the butt of all those abusers that crossed your path, and show them they will not be allowed to ruin the 2nd half of your life.
It seems that they will continue the abuse when I’m in the group home.
They plan on controlling my finances and my life.
You’re a grown man Wave, don’t put up with that crap. Say no and that that’s final.

I am keeping my finances separate.
My father has kept me codependent on him intentionally for years.
It’s not going to be easy for me, but I will try.

It’s possible to get an organization payee, ask your pdoc, I just researched that myself. Ask your case manager, or perhaps the charity does it

I just signed up to volunteer at our local no kill shelter, you gave me the idea. I enjoy pets but like the freedom of being able to go places , which is difficult if I had a pet.
The shelter had a volunteer form online, all I did was fill it out. Training is in 2 weeks. I feel better when I can get out of the house .
