So it was my wife’s birthday recently and I was picking her up a few little gifts. I didn’t have much money, so one of the presents I bought her was a ring for $14.99 at a local thrift store.
She went to the Jewelers to have it sized properly for her second finger…and drum roll…they appraised the ring at around $600.00!
When we pick up the re-sized ring from the Jewelry store, I’ll get my daughter to take a picture of it, and I’ll post it on this thread so you can all see it.
Yeah, I once ordered the last hamburger of the night for $4.99 at McDonalds and when I took it to be appraised the expert told me it was worth $7.98 even with one bite out of it. I really scored that night.
Update on that ring I bought at the Thrift store for $14.99. The Jeweler made a mistake and said the ring couldn’t be sized because it wasn’t stirling silver…and the ring is probably worth around a hundred bucks.
Oh well, here’s a picture of it anyways. I still made a nice profit after all…and my wife still loves the ring which is the most important thing.
My wife went to three different Jewelers to get an estimate to re-size the ring. One quoted $165.00…the other $60.00…and this place we went with quoted $40.00.
But all three said they could re-size the ring. Hon is determined to get the ring sized properly, but I told her to just forget it. But doesn’t this all seem just a little weird to you as well?
