I'll probably never try iti-007 and min-101

I’m in my 40s now. Lets say it takes 3 years for these drugs to reach the market in the usa. That means 5 years for Europe at least.

Then according to this article it would be prudent to wait a couple of years

So it could be up to 10 years before I’d feel safe trying these meds.

I’m not sure it’s going to be worthwhile changing from abilify in my 50s.

But who knows.

What about Encenicline? How is that going? Doesn’t it increase IQ?

Great point. You’d be better off hoping for a breakthrough in genetic engineering. The drug market is so freaking slow.

How exactly would they do that? Genetic engineering

Google CRISPR. But don’t hold your breath.

@NoEmotions I think that there are other things that might enhance cognitive function way beyond what
is attainable by genetic engineering.(like neural laces).
I do agree that genetic engineering might help us with physical fitness,
but then again in the future we might switch to something even better like robotic body.
Who knows what the future holds

… if you are still alive by 50’s

just saying’

I am kidding @everhopeful have a nice day

If you don’t switch over to one of the drugs which doesn’t bind to d2 you may develop tardive dyskinesia in old age. Aside from being disabled…scratch that, you could go on ingrezza. But who wants to be dependent on ingrezza for life? It is also rather expensive. D2 aps like abilify can have delayed side effects like tardive. Switching is the most reasonable option.

I’m 53, yet I hope to be alive to try those meds when they’re available.

It is a question of risk analysis. Risks you know vs risks you don’t. And how well your current medications work.

Nothing is riskier than being an unmedicated schizophrenic. Anything that stops psychosis bo matter what side effects it has is beneficial
