I'll forget about it

Weird day at work today. There were a lot of strange soldiers in the office building that I work as a janitor in for classes.

That’s not the weird part. My job today was emptying wastebaskets in offices and cubicles. It is the easiest job to do; it’s usually what the biker/ ex-con does all day but he broke his foot so I took over.

I stepped into an office of a soldier I know a little because I’ve seen him around for half a year. I was tired and when I’m tired I get a little loopy and stupid. The guy was talking to some woman and I said “hi” and started emptying the wastebasket, but the girl used the word “crazy” which makes me flinch. It wasn’t directed at me it had to do with their conversation. But I thought it had to do with me and it stopped me in my tracks for a seconds but I kept working. As I walked out I thought everything was cool. I’m a pretty nondescript type of person and they barely noticed me.

But as I left the office and turned the corner the guy was talking to the girl and I heard a few words and he said “trippin”. I immediately thought it was about me (trippin’ is a stoner term, usually associated with being on LSD, but people use it in everyday life to mean someone acting a little weird or behaving odd) I heard a few more sentences and I was about 85% sure that it wasn’t about me. But the paranoia came out a little and it took me several minutes to recover. It was no big deal. It wasn’t like Trump getting elected or the ending of the very first original Planet of the Apes. I was only shocked and surprised for a few minutes and then I moved on. It was just a coincidence.

You’re right. It was a coincidence. There’s no way for them to know you have schizophrenia. You’re functional and you don’t broadcast it.

yeah I have these a few times a day too. Just distract myself and move on. It is the best option.
:o)

Hope you feel better @77nick77

Coincedence is poison to my mind…most times it means I’m symptomatic.

Mate. I don’t work anymore but stressfull situations make me like that… It’s just paranoia and you do well enough to get over it…Paranoia is often about little things on the meds. They start small and sno ball from there.

Stay relaxed and glad you have some perspecitive…that’ll save you from a meltdown!

I flinch when people say crazy too. Sometimes I forget what situation I’m in, as whether people know about me or not. Usually in a work setting I have things I can look at or a comic book to calm me back down.

Sorry you went through that.
