Do you take something for anxiety?

I am temporary fixing my anxiety with L Theanine but I decided today that next week at my doctor’s appointment, I will take something for anxiety.

I have heard good things about Buspirone. I am wiling to try that if my doctor permits.

There are a lot of medications that are supposed to help with anxiety. If one doesn’t work, keep trying until you find one that does.

I used to take cloneazepam(a benzo) but you’re only supposed to take benzos short term ,like less than 3 months. They’re addictive and lose their effectiveness.

Yeah I took it for one year at nights when I could not sleep. I can take it again I guess. I even have in my purse 0.5 mg Ativan.

Thank you @Crimby

That is what I am willing to do. Find the right regime for me so I can have a good life.

I was taking Klonopin for a while, and it helped. Then I stupidly told my pdoc I had shared a couple of my pills with this young woman at our facility, and he yanked me off the med.

My doctor prescribed me Ativan and clonidine in the morning and at night

don’t worry too much. Everyone is stupid in a way
But yeah… One of the best things to learn in life is to be a very private person.

I take pregabalin for anxiety. Other than making me tired it does nothing for me that I can tell.

Benzos were the most effective for me with the fewest side effects (that is to say I had no side effects), but I’m no longer able to get them prescribed long term.

Sertraline helped with anxiety when I was on it but also made me manic very quickly

Yeah I need something.

Zyprexa seems to help me with anxiety.

Klonopin when needed.

I stated taking Zoloft a few weeks back. I notice a small improvement so far but it takes over a month to completely help. I take clonazepam as needed.

Is ur anxiety so bad it prevents u from doing things u would otherwise do? Cuz that’s when it’s really a problem. I took klonopin for a few years. When i was finally tapering off it, I realized the de-realization it had been giving me. The world felt more real and alive. That’s my two cents on benzos. The more u overcome ur anxiety without meds the easier it gets. Also meditation is an alternative and i do it daily.

I still have anxiety but no anxious thoughts to go along and that is better than being on another ‘pill’

I take Buspar (buspirone) 10 mg as needed. It helps some, and I only take it when I really need it. My dr won’t prescribe me a benzo. They’re not good long term, anyway, as others have said.

As sad as it is, my anxiety is induced from Geodon medication. =(

I can still do a lot but I just do not feel ‘okay’ I do not remember what it is like to be ‘okay’ anymore. I am always anxious, restless. I can not sit on the sofa and have a cup of coffee. I have akathisia and I am moving my fingers and head sometimes, other than talking to myself.

I dont have experience with that type of problem. Maybe if u treat the akathisia the anxiety will go away. Benzos arent meant for long term use tho so u should find another way to fix ur problem if it’s gonna be long term.

I switch between ativan and klonopin in need only… but something else will give me my life back i guess… benzos help me a lot for my heaviness in the body cause i went too far in the soul pain. Good for anxiety and my paranoia too. But you can try something yes, at least for some time. You are more active than me darling, youll do it :grinning:!

I think my anxiety is when my muscles want to walk around too much. I take muscle relaxant then. I dont take anything for psychological anxiety. Sometimes something bothers me and i dont know what. Then i tell myself…its not really my anxiety its just the illness. Cause when anxiety comes i dont want to act on it…like i dont want to fix it. Cause i cant fix it if i dont know where its coming from.
