If someone offers you support

What does that mean to you?

Someone offers support what do you think of?

I am struggling to understand what support I want or need

It seems very broad and I never really know what to think

So many different kinds I suppose, like you said, and what you’re looking for

A helping hand, someone to listen, another to give advice - mental support, financial support
Seems like the types of support can go on and on

I always say for them to say what they mean

Because I have no idea what would help so I have no idea what to assume or ask for

Guess that’s what I mean by this thread

I lived in supported housing and had help setting up utility contracts, budgeting, benefit applications.

A support worker used to take me to badminton/cookery groups. General support while I got back on my feet.

Support for me is sometimes just needing someone to listen, sometimes it’s having someone watch my dog and start my car up when I’m in the hospital, sometimes it’s financial assistance with purchasing something. I think having someone to watch my dog when I’m in the H has been the most helpful support I’ve had, as it means i didn’t have to give my dog up.
