If music is playing in your head can you change the song?

Somedays i have the ole musical brain where either songs are playing or snippets of music.

When its repetitive i just think “change it” and the song changes to a different one, or ill change genres too.

Who needs spotify when you got your brain

That used to be a big problem that the meds have largely taken care of.

i used to get frustrated from a song playing repetitively in my head and i would beg my voice to stop it. by now when there is music i can usually change it or ignore it by concentrating on an outside noise like the air conditioning running, it would be times i would hear (in my head) a 3 second loop from a song over and over and over really an umbrage but by now merely niggling if not enjoyable

Yes this happens to me regularly. I can’t really change it though. I’ll get stuck in a pattern and the ooriginal song will come back. I usually find that putting on the radio or litening to something different either makes it stop or changes the song i’m singing.

If there’s a song dropped in my head out of my control then it’s a message from the spirits in my head. But I can also change the song in my head voluntarily. Whether it stays there or not.

Yeah thats because you believe in spirits.

Music gets “dropped” into my head all the time. Id say its the subconscious mind pulling it up for whatever reason.

I don’t get specific songs, I get what sounds like music playing in a different room in what sounds like a certain style but it’s just out of legible hearing range

I was able to hear a song of different language and a new song,
which made me counclude there is a chip in my brain.
I still think of it today how in the world a song i have no idea off started in my head.
It was a late night studies around 1AM this song started off.
And yeah it was very loud.

Voices used to bring up information to me of things i read like months and months ago and would try to convince me its revolutionary knowledge. Then theyd twist it all up with other information.

I used to think that it was impossible and that it really was divine knowledge. But now i know its just information from my memory somewhere that the voice pulls from which is just myself.

That was a mouthful :crazy_face::smile:

I would probably either try to sing along or whistle the tune, i sometimes even do a little dance to myself

Oh yeah thats fine but sometimes it goes from morning until night lol.

I also used to hear snippets of tv characters and movie lines just one after another for hours it got pretty annoying lol

at least it is music and nothing harmful, maybe it is a form of self preservation

It’s definitely hard to change the song in your head. I’ve tried but found it nearly impossible

That’s great that you can do that.

I hear musical notes, maybe 4, 5, 6. Then they repeat. Sometimes I will have a few more and it forms a little song of sorts. Differing instruments. Bagpipes are particularly annoying when it’s the same few notes repeating. I also hear singing. I can’t always quite make out all the words, but I catch one or two. I may hear the word love, or learn. I get a general idea of what the song is about. They are not songs I’ve heard before. It doesn’t surprise me that I am hearing original music. I use to write a lot of music when I was younger. I guess I’m still writing in a way. I cannot change the song.

ah yes i also get original music that just seems to create itself, usually piano , orchestral or guitar. I wish i was good at musical instrument so i could transcribe it lol!

I wish I could remember it good enough to write it. Some of it is pretty. Most of it is annoying though, lol.

I’ve never heard music. Ever. Even though I enjoy music.
