Apple is currently working on a foldable phone for the future.
But myself I don’t trust foldable phones either.
I fell in love with apple products (computers) for work first.
Then the iPod came out and changed everything. Then the iPhone made history. Never gave any other phone, or competing product a chance.
I had an iPod touch 32gb then got the iPhone 4. They were great but then I switched to Android as they were cheaper and the one I got after the iPhone 4 had a better screen, LG G2. Nowdays Samsung and big brands are almost as expensive as Apple so I think both companies are overpriced but the difference is that Android phones offer much cheaper and still good models.
But I think recently the iPhone SE is a cheaper alternative to the regular iPhone.
My first iPod - I think I am a bit older than you - I got my iPod as a gift around 24. And owned every iPod that came out every year.
Before the iPod - i was using mp3 cd players
Its crazy what you can do with a phone nowdays, a cellphone replaces a camera, an mp3 and you can use it to game, to watch movies, browse the web, banking, even making voip and wifi calls.
I can even use my phone as a TV, AC, etc remote.
It is crazy.
I use it for everything you listed. And then some. It’s hard to even list out.
NFC (Near Field Communication), GPS (Global Positioning System) as well as UWB (Ultrawide Band) have been implemented into smartphones to permit ID verification such as Driver’s Licenses & Passports. Also unlocking and remote starting vehicles can be done using a smartphone. Lastly, purchasing transactions via credit card information can be completed using smartphones.
When Apple releases their foldable phone it’s sure to be of high quality.
I’ll be getting one
The thing is, I refuse to pay so much for a brand new phone. It is extremely expensive! If you could connect a keyboard and a mouse to it so it can transform to a computer, then I will happily purchase it. But they want you to pay for three devices instead of one.
I got my iphone se 2 for Around 500 €
They will not sabotage their iPad line. They might compete with it just like the iPad and the Mac. But the foldable iPhone might not replace the iPad.
What you’ve described is already available with Samsung DEX (Desktop EXperience) but only Samsung Galaxy Smartphones have this feature except the Samsung Galaxy Flip. Wireless DEX allows DEX on Samsung TVs without any need for cables. A Bluetooth Mouse & Keyboard is sufficient for Samsung DEX.
There is also what is called “Linked to Windows” similar to that of “2nd screen” by Apple.
You can with android just get a cheap bluetooth wireless keyboard and mouse and connect
it is still not a mac
Iphones are great, they are all I’ve ever had. However they suffer the same problem as Mac computers: poor selection of games.
I’m gonna ditch my 11 in a few years for an Android phone. Not gonna happen for a long time though because I need to replace the computer and get a used car first.
Oh you want apple to do it. Yeah they wont allow that unless they produce some super expensive iphone to keyboard lol
The only reason i dont like apple is it isnt very open source friendly
