Why is that? I took some photos for a friend but she wants them taken with an iPhone or its not good quality. I said I got a pixel and she said I could have spent a little more and got the iPhone. I don’t think iPhones are bad , but I like the pixel design

I couldn’t have said it better myself.
I have always owned an Android smartphone because of my 2500 song/19GB library which Apple would never allow. The Lightning connector is obsolete and impedes universal charger on all smartphones using USB-C. No desktop experience software/functionality. No stylus functionality like my Samsung S22 Ultra.
Don’t get me wrong. The Apple iPhone is an excellent product. However, the main target market is movie makers, photographers and artists. Whereas Android smartphones such as that of the Samsung Galaxy series are aimed at business users.

Reason I’m still with iPhone is I’m set in my ways. I’ve been using iPhone for 10 years

iPhones are simple to use and do not require one to be tech savvy to operate these smartphones.
Androids are easier to function just the same as iPhones.
The specifications, features and functions of an Android are a lot more and available compared to a standardized smartphone across all iPhones. But because all iPhones are similar and standardized, other features such as iCloud, cross platform operation over iPadOS, WatchOS & MacOS and peripheral add-ons such as AirPods, Air Tags and MagSafe products can purchased.

Samsung products can do the same as well. A Galaxy Smartwatch, Galaxy S series smartphone, Galaxy S Tab and Galaxy Book are all part of the Samsung ecosystem. Not as well synchronized as the Apple Ecosystem but Samsung is up there.

Samsung can talk to anything and not just Samsung products. My phone is connected to earbuds, my fitbit, my alexa, our house lights, the tvs, and my van.

The Pixel 7 will be even better I read. iPhones usually have a faster CPU but less RAM vs Android. But Androids are catching up with Apple on CPU speed now with Snapdragon 8 gen 1+ and Dimensity 9000 processors.

my smart phone cost me around 80 bucks at walmart…takes great pics…I don’t care. no way I would pay for an iphone…even if I could.

Both phone’s cameras are extremely good and most of the differences are subjective and easily corrected for in post-processing. That your friend believes this shows that she really doesn’t know much about photography, especially hardware or post. You can tell her that an award winning professional photographer said so.
