I wonder how smart we all were before our onset

Because research strongly supports the factoid that our IQ’s drop like ten points after onset. I perform at the “at least 120, maybe even up to 135” level. Standardized academia admissions tests said 130-ish (superscored ACT of 32) and my GRE was 306, equivalent of 1200 on the dot on the old scales. My shrink says the time I put into my work and results I get are evidence of an IQ of mid 130’s. Now about the GRE…that ■■■■ was on a computer and I practiced on paper and made between 315-324 on paper practice tests. The math section had a ■■■■■■■ grade school calculator on screen while I practiced with a TI-84 plus. Anyways according to the GRE my IQ is 120. My work and everything else (including freeiqtest.com) said 133.

Who else felt smarter before the illness? I remember not drinking caffeine or even taking any meds to function as an A’s and B’s student at an all honors international school. When the illness hit I made 2 C’s. Ok they were in college level classes but still, not typical or in suit of my 3.9 I had before senior year of high school.

Before my illness I tested pretty smart. I had an IQ of 129 and before they changed the SATs I got a score of 1430 out of 1500. Now I’m pretty much a dumb monkey.

I haven’t dropped too much in iq tests, only a bit in those that have a memory subscale.

I was too smart for my own good. Now I’m somewhat smarter than that.

I was tested at 13 and the nutcracker that tested me said that im prolly too smart for my own well being.

25 years later?..it turns out he was right.

Before my DX I was smart enough to get into trouble. Now I’m smart enough to stay out of it. Make of it what you will.

(All evidence supports that I am a bit above average now, but no genius.)

My IQ was tested when I was 16 and was going through emancipation proceeding with my parents. At the time I was given two test the WISC and the Stanford Binet. I scored a 148 on the WISC and a 156 on the Stanford Binet. I haven’t been tested since.

I’m pretty smart, when I was tested for IQ back in the late 90s I got a 159, but my memory is horrible. Especially now, I have been consistently forgetting to get blood tests done for months and my doctor is getting angry with me. It’s not laziness or apathy, I just can not keep it in my mind and I’m too disorganized to put together a system to help me remember things. If it’s something scheduled, I can do it, but the lab is walk in so I don’t have a specific time and date to go, so it ends up getting lost. Maybe I could pretend to have an appointment for the blood work?

I took an IQ test once on Facebook. Scored 118. I don’t think I am stupid, when I was a kid in school I used to leave the other students in the dust when the teacher would make us go head to head on our multiplication tables. I won a 3rd place on a short story contest out of all the students on the grade. I think I burned more than my share of neurons by smoking weed, which could explain why I don’t feel as brilliant as before. I’m pretty sure my lack of success stems from traumatic events with other people instead of just not being smart enough.

Actually scratch that, my late choices in life all point to the fact that I’m dumb as Hell now.

Bam! That’s what I was trying to say.

i can’t get any dumber !?!
take care :alien:

Don’t lie sith.

I was above average intelligence before all of this.

I had a strong knack to absorb quickly and memorize much more than the others.

Now im a mix of pills and torment, it’s most certainly had it’s effects on my intelligence.

I’m not smart at all by any measure and I’ve always hated school. I was in remedial reading classes as a child. Now I read about 50 novels a year. I think I got like a 16 on my ACT cuz I just wanted to get to my bowling league.

I wonder how each person would test weaned off of medications,

My IQ tested at 122 before college, and before my diagnosis. I don’t know what it would test now, and I’m afraid to find out.
