I wish my hair was silky soft

Thanks for the compliment. I used to have bad hair as a child because my mum would brush it hard. Id cry from her brushing it ugh
My mum was tough on me

It’s good you found a way to care for it now, now that you are in charge

Yes
I never had decent clothes as a child either. They were old seconds in poor condition. I looked shabby
But mum would wash and iron so at least thats something.
Sorry to go off topic
Poor skint family but everyone made bad decisions for me. I had to work during school for peanuts. Like 2 pound for a heap of ironing after school. Did cleaning and ironing after school age 12-15
I think some of it was just being poor, but they were heavy handed with me

Ever since I was young my hair would start breaking once it began to get long, and my mental illness often has me go for long periods where I wouldn’t shower very often so my hair would get gross…so now I shave my head and don’t have to worry about it anymore.

That sounds like an effective solution. What’s your opinion on wearing wigs?

If I decided to shave my hair one day, I like the idea of trying out cool hairstyle and color wigs that my actual hair texture doesn’t allow.

I’ve never worn a wig but some of the African-American staff at my clubhouse wear them. They’re very beautiful but I hear they’re really expensive. They also get braids and extensions put in but it’s REALLY expensive, like several hundred dollars a visit. I just have my own clippers and when my hair gets too long an employee at the clubhouse cuts it for me so it doesn’t cost anything.

i went a long time without a haircut as a kid and i was so disappointed that i was forced to get a hair cut just days before i got it twisted to start locs. luckily tho my hair grew to being past below chest length, but after a few years i got a buzzcut, my hair is really thick so it weighed about 5 pounds after cutting locs. i miss having long hair but i dont miss the neck pain i had everytime i washed my hair due to the already heavy locs absorbing water

I think hair is kinda like skin. You can improve it’s health with careful attention. What products are good I have no idea but I think also diet plays a big role. E.g. if you don’t have enough food fats or vitamin e in your diet I think it will get dry etc. just my take on the issue

Mr. Star puts a bit of avocado oil on his hair after he washes it, runs a comb through to the ends, lets it dry natural, and rinses it out the next morning. He doesn’t brush it dry. It has done wonders for him. He has curly hair, and curly hair needs extra moisture. Before doing this, he thought he just had frizzy puff ball hair.

I think the photos are just deceiving

I personally don’t think my hair is all that soft… I also only ever use shampoo, so… like basic shampoo lol

But thank you :face_holding_back_tears:
