I've asked before, I'll ask again, how do you feel about your hair?

I have an often complicated relationship with my hair.

It’s super long, has been forever.

Now it’s going aggressively grey in a Mrs. Munster like streak.

But I still like it.

Trying to get it in better health and thicker with some expensive ass vitamins.

I get mad at my hair a lot and threaten to cut it into a bob.

Then I remember how long it takes to grow out and realize most people have short hair and that mine is unique.

So I try to appreciate it, but still hate it some of the time.

Hair has been such a huge part of culture for so long.

Even the Bible mentions it several times and even has a whole story about it.

How do you feel about your hair?

:pensive: its all falling out. So sort of annoying actually. When i had hair it was also annoying. I like shaving my head it makes things easier.

Did you keep your hair long before it started falling out?

to improve the health of long hair, you should cut an inch or two every three months. this helps a lot.
you can also use a hydration cream, one that doesnt fall out of the tub when you turn it upside down.
avoid using towels on your hair and dont brush it while it’s wet…
you dont have to buy expensive vitamins, just make sure you eat foods which promote hair health and growth, like walnuts, tofu, soy milk, salmon, mackerel, broccoli, cauliflower.
i personally do all of these things

as for the question, i love my hair and for me my haircut is my main acessory. i always used to get compliments on my hair because of the cut/style. i think hair is something thats always worth looking after.

Thanks for the advice.

I do most those things and have been for a long time.

But I do take the vitamins because if I don’t my hair will fall out during menopause.

I remember hearing one time that in modern human times hair is sexual organ ie is only there to promote attraction/intercourse! Lol

Not sure if I buy that though. Is also an organ of expression and communication therefore

Ever since I started using Shae Moisture Strengthen and Restore for Damaged Hair shampoo 2x/week, and Shae Moisture Curl and Shine Conditioner 2x/week on my hair, it’s been much healthier. I’ve been using them for a year now, and it’s a huge difference. I also use other sulfate free, paraben free shampoo and conditioner the other times I wash my hair but Shae Moisture has really made a difference for me. It took about a month to really notice the difference. I now like my hair. Oh - and I’m going gray too but my gray is evenly dispersed throughout my hair and right now has more of a look of highlights

I used to keep my hair long during my 20s, today I’m bald unfortunately.

I’ll still have dreams where I’m sporting long hair.

Miss my ponytail.

I just buzz what’s left of my hair down, it’s easier that way

@Charles_Foster You had me thinking you were taking costly medication for your ass! “Expensive ass medication” lol.

I used to love my hair. It had nice wavy curls and was super long. Then I had 6" cut off (Read: over a foot). I am still grumpy about that. To make matters worse, the purple dye straightened it out. I still like my hair well enough, but I don’t love it.

Keep it long. You have a lifelong relationship with it.

You can go gray, it will be a new texture. When you want to experiment with color, you can because it is temporary.

But I’m going gray and stopped coloring for a long time now. Coloring gray is more resistant to color. But I’m not gonna fight the gray. When younger, i colored for color sake. Not to hide grays. But i think if i wanted to change things up i can color up the gray too.

Still not sure how to fix the texture of gray hair and make it not wire-y.

I am almost completely bald! I do have some white stubble on the side though. I have more hair on my face than on my head.

Getting the Classic monk bald spot on the top of my head. Dont care - i visit a barber every 2 weeks to have it shaved off with a cutthroat razor.

The beard i let grow now and again - but thats grey too lol.

My hair is one of the few things I like about my body/appearance. It’s very long thick and wavy

The hair on my head irritates me - it grows too fast and requires too much maintenance.

My armpits have lovely braids.

I’m a frequent head shaver(every few days). I have this slim growth of hair on top that looks clownish if i don’t do something about it like shaving. I have a well proportioned head so it fits me(the bald look).
