I think it depends on how often you play and why you play.
If you play because you have nothing better to do, then you could probably benefit from developing other interests.
If you play because you like playing, I’d say keep on going.
As long as it doesn’t control your life and affect your social life, I’d say it’s fine.

Yes other thing do less harm to my brain then video games

How do you know it’s harming your brain?
Unless you’re addicted, I don’t see the harm.

I play a lot of video games, and I haven’t felt any harm done.
I make sure it doesn’t affect my life in any way, though. If someone calls me and wants to hang out, I shut down the game and face the real world. If I have chores to do, the games are a reward after the chores are completed.

But like I said, if you feel like you’re just playing because you don’t have anything else to do, then you should explore other options. Find things that bring you more joy or purpose or whatever it is you’re looking for.

I used to be addicted to video games, but Abilify has tamed it down. I play sometimes but they can overtake your life for some people. Anything in the right spirit is ok for me. I did used to lose my temper with games and get very stressed out. I now play in moderation.

Video games make you stupid didn’t you know? Unless you r professional but still you r stupid I mean those pros

Actually, some video games have been proven to improve reaction time and desicion making, as well as dexterity.
They have also started using video games to help people with PTSD.

Some stupid people are gamers, but not all gamers are stupid.

I’m curious, how do you measure stupidity?

I’m pretty sure there are stupid musical players too :stuck_out_tongue:

You’re entitled to your opinions, but don’t mistake them as facts.

I thought video games are good in moderation? Problem is I get addicted.

I support your decision to remove video games from your routine, and applaud your willpower if you stick to it. Spending too much time on video games has withered my attention span. I can’t say it’s made me as dumb as I am but there’s the attention span thing.

Also, the last time I cut off video games, I noticed a huge improvement in my engagement with others (and also an improvement with my grades as I had been terribly addicted). But that was before I became ill, a long long time ago. These days I have little better to do but play vidya gaems and browse the interweb.

I removed TV and social media… it was very beneficial

I think it’s a good idea to cut back on it if you feel it is an addictive behavior or hindering you in some way and respect your decision to quit.

I have the opposite problem. I have fun games that I want to play and never remember to sit down and play them!

Many studies are showing video games are great for cognition.

The opposite of making you stupid.

I’d probably be dumber and more depressed if not for video games
