I was wondering if there's anyone who believes in noFap for men

I personally believe too much ejaculation for men can lead to worsened mood. Porn is also another aspect that is not good for your brain. (in excess)

The majority of the world would think there’s nothing to nofap if you ask them, and that quite the opposite is true; masturbation is healthy.

And I believe it’s ok to do it too, just it can be overdone.

I have noticed that on medications it takes longer to recover from ejaculation. I was wondering, if there’s anyone who also believes in NoFap for men in here, have you noticed the same?

Thanks, interesting read. So they say testosterone levels are boosted at day 7, but then it falls down again. I’m familiar with that study, and I definitely think there’s benefits to sex/masturbation. But I remain a believer in noFap (for some people, not saying it’s for everyone), as I did it in my early 20s and experienced and insane boost in self confidence, improved mood, and reduction in brain fog. I also partook in the NoFap community on reddit a lot at the same time, and I read so many anecdotes of people who noticed increased confidence among many other benefits.

Seems to me like the science isn’t clear, as not many want to do research on this topic.

I read an interesting study where rodents abstained from sex and they had increased number of androgen receptors in the brain, the receptors testosterone works on, which makes me believe that it’s a possibility that, although testosterone doesn’t increase, the brain may become more sensitive to testosterone. Again, it was in rodents, if the same is true for humans I don’t know. But it could possibly be a reason why some people report feeling more masculine and have increased confidence.

I’m not black/white on this at all. I think for certain people, abstaining from both porn and masturbation can potentially have huge benefits. For others, maybe not. Maybe even the opposite for some people, sex/masturbation can give them increased well being.

For me, I go by experience. I try to limit both porn and masturbation as I’ve found that’s when I feel the best.

I can imagine it can give you a big ego boost, as successful trying something that’s hard will (hmm or not trying something that’s hard in this case). Other things can do too. And ofcourse people play around with masturbating before sex to last longer and the opposite holds as well.

I think it’s a dumb fad. Fap all ya want. I’m not a huge fan of porn as I think it’s exploitive of women. If you’re going to use porn, avoid the extreme stuff where men and/or women are treated like garbage and stick with stuff that depicts healthy sex between a couple.

I think pornography is sort of degrading…
Not masturbating without it isn’t terribly difficult.
People suffer real addictions with it.
Good luck with no fap.

when i do nofap i get nocturnal emissions everytime. idk if its a meds think but even a couple years ago id get wet dreams/ nocturnal emissions every night unless i fapped. its not as extreme now as i can go multiple days without but i still get them regularly

Good to know I am not the only one. Now that I am tapering AP I find I can get around jumping much sooner.

Porn is something everyone should outgrow from with time. That’s my opinion.

I lied to my pdoc and told him I masturbated when I didn’t . The result was I tried to make the lie the truth. It was disastrous to my outlook. It’s not for everyone.

I swear the meds makes recovery 10x longer.

Porn doesen’t make me feel good at all. It really messes with the brain to witness something that is kind of the most sacred thing for humans when it is unnatural and out of place(unreal and 3rd person).

But I totally get that others might think it’s beneficial. We are all different.

I do watch erotic non-porn content sometimes though. But try to keep it to a minimum.

Nofap. Yeah, meds make recovery harder. I do think a mans energy gets more or less drained when doing the deed, I certainly do it less as I’m getting older and I guess that has to do with conserving energy.

I’ve heard that they tell boxers not to have sex or masturbate before a boxing match because it makes them meaner and more aggressive. So take that for what you will.

It may not be a as big of a deal in us older men, but for younger men, in many cases, some kind of release is almost needed, even if they dont have a partner.

This reminds me of my first psychiatrist, a few sessions in he advised me to get laid

my med might have made me infertile. it certainly affects my libido, i don’t really get anything from porn and i agree not to watch the degrading stuff.

Although Fapping is healthy, watching porn may not be.
There’s lots of real life violence and debauchery on many of these porn sites.

With that said I am admittedly addicted to porn on some level

It goes against nature. Everything in moderation.
