I want to leave Israel, but my genetic parameters, with schizophrenia and with other problems,
do not allow me to make a move.
Where do you want to go buddy?
As we say in my country
Nowhere will you find free pretzels up dogs’ tails. Or something like that. Meaning that wherever you may go, you’re likely to meet the same kinds of people and same social issues that you currently face in Israel. Or worse.
Hello @Andrey.
I am aware that I may face problems abroad, but I still want to leave.
In the worst case, I will face the same problems I face in Israel, and in the best case my fate there will
be altogether more splendid.
And even if the fate is the same, I would rather face it in Spain than in Israel.
The rain in Spain falls mainly in the plain(s).
I wish you luck. But solitude is not advisable with our medical condition. Do you have any friends or acquaintances in your foreign country of choice?
You should look into coming to England. Here it isn’t that stringent with regards to immigrating like Australia or U.S.A with a pre-existing. You already speak English. You could get a work visa and travel around and maybe you’ll meet somebody and can remain here. There are some very beautiful part to England/U.K.
@bobbilly, I don’t want to move anywhere, I am just a hapless schizophrenic man who lives a life of suffering.
I am completely dependent on my parents for all my needs, and absolutely incapable of travelling
and living independently.
Same as me then. I’m incapable of travelling too.
Is there any other lifechanges you can do? Or Move to another city?
Hi again Erez.
It’s ok to admit your current limitations, but not necessarily to accept them.
Have you tried CBT ? (cognitive behavioural therapy) The core principle of which is attempting to rewire your thought processes and hopefully your emotional responses as well.
Also, I don’t want to sound like a broken record but have you tried prayer?
The other week dad sent me an email with a very long list of outstanding accomplishments done by Jewish people. Not the least of which is: more than half of Nobel prizes for science have gone to folks who either identify themselves as Jews or come from Jewish families. I don’t wanna sound pretentious but in light of that evidence I could very well start believing you guys really are the “chosen people”…
Never lose hope.
Please don’t suggest prayer. Many people deal with thoughts and voices and fears that are part of a religious context, and I think the most ethical way to talk to people is to tell them things based in reality with a spiritual context a lot of the thoughts and feelings people have during delusions aren’t really able to be constructively dealt with.
Jewish people are a fine bunch, but many of them are culturally jewish and actually atheist. Another reason not to assume, is just because you have a bias that a particular group is doing well, you don’t know what insular problems unique to their experience they’re facing.
I know nothing about Erez’s religious views. All I know is he lives in Israel where Judaism is the main religion.
I can’t speak for everyone else, but in my case prayer has helped loads, to the point that I’m now virtually symptom free (save for some cognitive damage) and also a deep believer.
@Chess24 I hope you find inner peace man. Take care.
Erez is still young and many young people like to travel. When I was between 18 and 34 I travelled a lot, I saw some parts of the world, but now when I am much older I do not like to travel, I am happy to live in my little town. In Europe it is quite easy to travel when you are European, a citizen of the EU, then you need just the EU ID card. I wish @Chess24 all the best.
I thought i have a better life in Australia as in Germany but i was mistaken. Same people same problems same me. Don’t forget its a foreign language. For sz language is important. You need to express yourself.
Are you still refusing medication? It’s pretty much the best thing available to us for removing suffering and restoring function.
One thing I’ve learned is wherever you go your problems still come with you. So changing locations may not necessarily solve what your looking for
Well I guess if you move to Venezuela then it’s gonna be worse
If you are of Jewish heritage and of Sephardic Jewish heritage, I heard that they are offering any Jewish individuals who are of that heritage with Spanish citizenship. I think it’s worthwile to look into.
Hi chess, sometimes I want to move too, change my parameters, I get hostile people also, would moving help?
It depends how old you are, those problems you have now may follow if you move. It is a big change to move from one culture to another. Why not to counter your current problems in the culture where you are now. I wish you all the best.
