How do I get off invenga sustenna I’ve been in it for a month first two shots .how long will it take me to start fealing like myself again
When they changed me from invega shot to seroquel pills because of side effects, it took about 3 months for me to feel better. As with any medication it’s good for some but not for others. If you go off it you most likely need something to replace it. I had been on the shot for two months and received 3 injections before stopping it.
Make sure to keep your psychiatrist informed about your decision so they can support you with a different medication that might work better for you.

When I had elevated prolactin levels on the 234mg Invega shot it took three months without it before I started to notice things going back to normal. I was… eeemmm… lactating. Yep.

Did you have to take more shots when wanting to stop or were those 3 shots already have been taken before weaning off the drug
I wanna stop invenga am I gonna have to keep taking it to wean off
No i stopped taking the shots after the third one. I told my psychiatrist about the side effects and he immediately put me on another medicine, didn’t wean me off or anything.
What kind side effects were you getting?
Akathisia (i had to move constantly, couldn’t sit still, had to always be walking) and intrusive thoughts.
How long after your last shot did you start fealing better ?
Did you have a hard time sleeping ? And do you know of ways to detox your system from invenga?
I quit Invega 234mg shot after a year and a half recently. Almost all my side effects were gone in two months.

What kind of side effects were you getting ?
Mostly negatives. No joy, no emotion, flat effect. Slept too much. Couldn’t do anything because of no motivation.
When you decided to come off the drug did you have to start taking something else to replace it ?
Yes, I chose abilify. I’m doing well on it. Have emotions again and more motivation.
Abilify pills. I had Invega shot.
I got off the shot last year I think in Spring. I then switched to pill Invega and got off that in November. It’s been about three months w/o Invega at all and I’m feeling a lot more like myself but not 100% yet. On the Invega I moved really slowly and didn’t want to do a lot. I also had difficulty thinking/reasoning/planning.

How long did it take to get off the invenga pill
I tapered from 6mg to 3mg to 1.5mg. So I think about a total of six months or so. . .
Can I just quit invenga cold turkey ?
